airforce-kruseThe Air Force hockey team is still waiting to find out if they leave for Anchorage, Alaska Wednesday afternoon.

Chances are, they may not know until that morning.

“We’re all standing by ready to go waiting on the word from above,” said Air Force assistant athletic director for media relations Dave Toller, who also does color analyst work for the game broadcasts on 1300 AM The Animal. “Football didn’t find out until the morning they left (for Navy) so we may be in the same boat. We just don’t know.”

Air Force is scheduled to open its season at the Kendall Classic against Alaska-Fairbanks on Friday and host Alaska-Anchorage on Saturday. The Falcons home exhibition game on Monday was cancelled.

There may be some hope. Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Army at Penn State hockey series will be played this weekend, although, like at Air Force, no official announcement was made on Tuesday.
