Former Colorado College goalie Richard Bachman looks at his time with the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons as a great opportunity to get mofre playing time after two seasons as an NHL backup in Dallas.
The free agent, signed for one season, looks at the Edmonton organization is an opportunity to contend for the big club’s No. 1 job this year or next.
“Everyone’s goal is to be in the NHL but I feel I’m still developing. The best way to do that is go play,” Bachman said. “In the NHL I might get a game every three weeks. Here I can get into a rhythm. I’m excited about that.”
Under the terms of his two-way deal, he makes $650,000 if he plays in the NHL and $250,000 in Oklahoma City.
