Freshman Zach Aman underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus ligament in his right knee on Monday. The forward expects to return in time for the Tigers’ season-opening games against Minnesota-Duluth on Oct. 18-19.
“It’s a lot better that this happened now instead of in the middle of the season,” he said during Thursday’s captains practice.
In the meantime, he joins defenseman Michael King in the stands. The sophomore is recovering from offseason hip surgery from an injury sustained in January against Nebraska-Omaha. He expects to me back for game action in November.
