Denver single-game tickets go on sale at 9 am. Friday and the Pioneers are now requiring only North Dakota fans to purchase three games. CC fans are not required to do so, according to the ticket office.
North Dakota fans, who already pay $10 more for the premium game (CC is $8 more), will be required to buy two tickets to one of the following seven games: the Merrimack series, Nebraska-Omaha series, Western Michigan series and the single game against Brown.
That of course, has the UND beat writer rightfully concerned that the usual large green-clad crowds at Magness Arena may be smaller because of the cost and hassle.
It also prompted this tweet from North Dakota athletics:
“Minnesota doesn’t want our team in their arena. Now DU doesn’t want our fans in their arena. Did you guys not get hugged enough as children?”
Group sales do not have that restriction but require 20 or more. To purchase group tickets for the CC or North Dakota series, please call 303-871-2336. Also keep in mind that CC athletics will have some tickets available as well.
In other news, it looks like the Denver Pioneers are looking for some walk-ons to flesh out the roster with an open tryout at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Magness Arena.
All interested players should contact DU Director of Hockey Operations David Tenzer at 303-871-4597 prior to Friday, Sept. 13 to secure a spot on the tryout roster.
