The WCHA announced its 2013-14 composite schedule

Former Air Force assistant Mike Corbett, now leading Alabama-Huntsville, had this to say: “I couldn’t be more excited about the direction of the Alabama Huntsville hockey program and the upcoming season, as we prepare for our first season in the historic WCHA. With a full slate of games against top-notch competition, we will have to be at the top of our game for an entire six months. There is a buzz around this city regarding the bright future of Charger hockey and we can’t wait to hit the ice in October.”

Corbett goes into further detail about establishing a hockey identity at UAH in this USCHO interview.

The field for this season’s Three Rivers Classic has cleared up.  Perennial national power Boston College (Hockey East) will play Bowling Green (WCHA) at 4:35 ET on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, followed by Penn State (Big 10) against host Robert Morris of the Atlantic Hockey Association in the 7:35 nightcap. The third-place and championships games follow the same schedule on Dec. 28. This Penn State fan blog looks into this in greater detail.
There are plenty of college connections in this year’s U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame class.
