Monday reading: Boivin, Fejes, McDermott, Schwartz, Stoykewych head to NHL camps; Ken Ralph finalist for W. Illinois AD job

Phoenix draft pick Hunter Fejes is in Glendale for the Coyotes’ camp July 8-12 while captain Eamonn McDermott is in Philadelphia during the same time period. Winnipeg draft pick Peter Stoykewych is at the Jets’ camp July 15-19.

Graduated Tigers Mike Boivin (Wild,  July 11-13) and Rylan Schwartz (Sharks July 8-11) are also being evaluated. 

No doubt, other current and former Tigers will be headed to camps. More rosters will be released by the NHL organizations this week.

Colorado College athletic director Ken Ralph is one of three finalists for a similar position at Western Illinois. Ralph will be in Macomb, Ill. for interviews July 9-10.

Ralph, at CC since 2007, served as athletic director at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2002-07. He is the former senior assistant athletic director, head coach of swimming and water polo and aquatics director at Connecticut College. He has also worked as aquatics director and swimming coach at Evansville, Air Force, Kutztown (Pa.) and Georgetown (Ky.).

The Fighting Leathernecks compete in the Division I Missouri Valley Conference and Summit League.

Also, a former Minnesota forward is graduating this summer and will head to Alaska-Fairbanks to finish his college playing career.
