In the pros: Crabb signs with Florida Panthers

Crabb-Capital-whiteFormer Tiger Joey Crabb signed a two-year NHL contract with the Florida Panthers Thursday afternoon.

Crabb, 30, has played in 170 NHL contests with Atlanta (2008-2009), Toronto (2010-2012) and Washington (2012-13) scoring 20 goals with 32 assists and 93 penalty minutes. He recorded NHL career bests in goals (11), assists (15) and points (26) in 67 games played with Toronto during the 2011-12 season.

The Anchorage native, won a Calder Cup with Chicago (AHL) in 2008 and was named to the AHL All-Star team in 2011. Crabb also played for Team USA at the 2012 World Championship, registering three assists in eight games played.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound winger was selected by the Rangers in the seventh round (226th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
