As expected with CC’s win over Michigan Tech and Boston College’s loss to Northeastern on Saturday, the Tigers are the nation’s new No. 1 team. CC, which hasn’t been ranked No. 1 since November 2005, earned 31 of 34 first-place votes and 504 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. Rival Denver, which swept Wisconsin, is nipping at the Tigers’ heels as the new No. 2.

Kate – tell the boys to ignore this and remember what happened at the regional last year. I would like to see post season success rather than early season rankings.
