Just in case you missed Tuesday’s City Council meeting, here is one highlights reel.
The council was asked by Mayor Steve Bach to confirm three nominees for the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority Board. The board has operated mostly behind the scenes since it was created in 1970.
But now the board will be in the spotlight as the city works through the proposed City for Champions project. The Urban Renewal Authority will be the entity charged with overseeing the financing of the project, which has been controversial.
The council (Council members Don Knight, Helen Collins, Andy Pico, Keith King and Joel Miller) voted to delay the confirmation until some council members could have time to interview the candidates. There were a few barbs exchanged and some tense moments.
Who got in the best snide remark? You decide.
