Colorado Springs is launching an emergency preparedness campaign with a special emphasis on “Flash Flood Awareness.”
Flash flood season typically runs late March through September. The city’s Office of Emergency Management says there is a real threat of flash flooding and debris flow in certain parts of the city.
Residents are encouraged to know their risk and make their plan for any type of emergency situation.
The city will host a community meeting to address the increased flood risk this season 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 2, at Glen Eyrie Castle, 3820 N. 30th St.
