Somebody stole our Kevin Bacon photo

You read that right – a reader submitted a photo (though not a selfie) that somebody snapped of her and Kevin Bacon. How do you like them apples? That is a bitter, bitter apple, my friends.

Reader Sarah Kittle found Kev at the top of the Manitou Incline on Tuesday afternoon, and sent me a photo, which I kind of have to love. How sweet of her to think of me! Oh, and guess what? It was her FIRST TIME hiking the Incline! What a nice reward she got, eh? I don’t remember that kind of treat waiting for me after my first slog to the top, do you?

I interrogated Kittle on her Bacon run-in:

Me: What was he like?

Sarah: Kevin was nice but seemed like he didn’t want to draw a lot of attention to himself.

He was hiking alone, wearing a big hat and sunglasses.

Kevin was at the top of the incline around 12:45 PM yesterday. He was taking photos.

Me: Did he say how long he’d be in town? Was it his first time on the incline?

Sarah: Sorry, didn’t ask either of the above questions.

And she wasn’t the only one to spot him. Other Facebook friends also alerted me to another woman who found Kev on the Incline Tuesday, too. That one looks like a selfie. Curses! Stolen right out from underneath us.

Ah well. You win some Kevin Bacon, you lose some Kevin Bacon. He could still be around the Springs, you know, lurking, waiting to surprise us. I half expect that guy to come strolling into The Gazette reception area downtown during one of his breaks from shooting the indie film “Cop Car.” I mean, he must have heard all the kerfluffle from locals about his visit here, right?
