Air Force’s Conant named to Lou Groza watch list

Air Force’s Will Conant was one of 30 kickers named to the Lou Groza Award watch list, it was announced on Wednesday.

Conant, a senior, connected on 11-of- 13 field goals in 2013, including three of more than 50 yards. His final five field goals of the season came from 45, 48, 52, 47 and 52 yards. The native of Edmond, Okla., also made 32-of-33 PATs in his junior season.

The watch list was highlighted by Florida State sophomore Roberto Aguayo, who will attempt to join fellow Seminole kicker Sebastian Janikowski as the only repeat winner in the award’s history.

Conant joins teammate Michael Husar on a national watch list, as the senior center was one of 66 named to the Fall Rimington Trophy watch list. The Rimington Trophy honors the top lineman who primarily plays the center position.
