I do not want to see AFA play CU. With Army and Navy being set as two non-conference games for AFA each year, the Falcons are already hamstrung in trying to add non-conference variety to their schedule.

Frankly, I have always been opposed to AFA scheduling a so-called creampuff for Parents’ Weekend. With this annual farce [twice this year with South Dakota and Tenn State due to MWC defections], plus the Army and Navy games on an annual basis scheduling Colorado on a frequent basis would fill the AFA schedule with a repetiousness that would bore me.

Rather than seeing the continuation of Parents’ Weekend weaklings and/or the addition of CU, I’d prefer seeing the academy reach out to schools from around the country.

When the MWC becomes a ten team league [minus TCU, but with Hawaii, Fresno State and Nevada] if the Falcons play all nine conference teams each year, plus Army and Navy, that would account for eleven of the teams 12 games in years it does not travel to Hawaii. If AFA insists on keeping its Parents’ Weekend creampuff, then every year the Falcons do NOT travel to Hawaii season ticket holders will be seeing the same 11 teams plus one creampuff on the AFA slate. I hope AFA will choose to seek non-conference games against teams from across the country rather than just Boulder. My $.02.

  2. With the additions of the new school, MWC teams will still play only 8 conference games per the MWC decision…that is why we do not play BSU the next two years following this season leaving us with 4 games to schedule.

RJP, Glad to hear the MWC schools will play just eight conference games. Even so, with Army, Navy and a creampuff on Parents’ Weekend every year that leaves only one other game AFA can schedule in years when it does not travel to Hawaii. I hope the Falcons would look for an intersectional game rather than playing Colorado on a frequent basis. For the sake of giving season ticket holders more diversity in the opponents AFA plays I hope the Falcons do not play CU.

Is it important? No. Would it be fun? Yes. If nothing else, Folsom Field is a great football venue.

    GO AIR FORCE!

It’s probably not important to the players but would generate some state-wide interest. Would be a much better game than what we’re going to see this year with the two scheduled walkover games.

There is a rich tradition of playing Boulder in the 60′s and 70′s. The rivalry was strong and healthy. Good for the state. Good for Air Force football.

There needs to be established a round robin of Rocky Mountain foothill states playing one another: Colorado, CSU, Air Force, & Wyoming for instance, with bragging rights and a trophy. Regional football should be emphasized beginning in the state of Colorado as it has three schools with football teams. To ignore that fact is ludicrous.

It is my understanding that CU wants no part of playing AFA in football.
AF is the best football program in Colorado, and I believe they know it.
