Air Force takes advantage of Rembert’s versatility

Falcons coach Troy Calhoun said before the season that he might move cornerback Reggie Rembert around some on defense this year, and last week Air Force started to give Rembert a little more to do.

In dime packages, Rembert was moved around. He played some deep safety and also a little at the linebacker level.

“I think he knows his own job of corner where he’s able to play a role like that,” Calhoun said.

Rembert played a bit of a spy role against Wyoming quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels, and blitzed a few times as well. While moving Rembert around could make it tougher for opposing quarterbacks to avoid him – something that has happened a bit this season – Calhoun said the opponent could determine Rembert’s role.

“It’s going to be from week to week,” Calhoun said.
