    8 is alot of kids for a basketball program and could easily result in fratricide – good players leaving early for lack of practice time. You only need 2-3 guys a year to develop into Solid D-1 players by their Sophmore year to keep a program going.

  2. Not at USAFA…due to the military obligation, etc and the lack of transfers it’s a system that has worked not only for AF but for all three Academies. Not much different from what football does. Just another point of view.

    Good news is that the ratio is correct with 6 preppies and 2 direct in freshmen!

    Arguably, the “system” has only worked for about 6 years out of USAFA’s basketball history. I do really like seeing 6 preppies coming in though. I hope we can get them all to stay the whole ride and really have a solid team when they’re 1* and 2*. That won’t happen unless they get a solid head coach who can develop their talent though.
