I have been with the The Gazette since 2006 and began covering Air Force athletics in the fall of 2012. While with The Gazette I've jumped from layout & design to covering the Sky Sox to spending several years overseeing our high school sports coverage. I've written for newspapers at the University of Kansas, St. Joseph, Mo., and Maui. (By the way, one of those things is not like the other) At home, my wife, Jennifer, and I have three young daughters, ranging in age from 3 1/2 to 8 months. I know this is not the blog for this, but I feel that I need to get the word out. WE NEED TONY D BACK! I know you all agree. The other blogs prove it. Is there anyway to get a article, maybe Tony D will read it. Can we contact him, can we bring him back? The afternoon show sucks, I can’t even listen to it and now I can’t listen to his podcasts in Charleston. This just totally ruins my day. He kept me smiling on my way to work and at work and on the way home. He was the best talk show host I have ever heard besides Rome. Please let’s do something as a city to bring him back. Colorado Springs needs him.

March 1, 2010 at 5:40 pmI’ve been listening to the new Sports Animal and it is a very poor immitation of what it used to be. I didn’t always agree with Tony D but he took calls from Black Sheep and othrs and was very engaging.
The new host sounds like an Angry Brotha who is dong his best Steven A. Smith impression. He also has a human parrot next to him (I think his name is Wills?) who giggles after the many slams the host makes about the Denver Nuggets.
The host takes very few calls from the public and most of the time he isn’t even talking sports, but trying to run some kind of lame comedy club routine. I prefer listening to Homer 1350 out of Pueblo. They seem to focus on sports, interview Southern Colorado coaches and actually report what is happening in local, state and national sports.

There was a post somewhere that the Animal has too much ‘other’ programming on itnow…like 3 hrs of “bid and buy’ and now someone said that they are running the Michael Savage Show, but the lineup on the web site does not show that.

The guy in the afternoon just sucks, no ifs, ands or butts. I can’t even listen to it, it is horrible. So who is in with me, I will call today. Call Bobby Irwin, from the name above and continue to bug him until Tony D is back in Colorado Springs where he belongs. This time we will do it right Tony D. We will show up at all the remotes (that we can), we will try to get our businesses to support you, we will NOT let you down again. Please come back, COLORADO SPRINGS NEEDS YOU!
