Navy won the rubber match in the service academy teams’ series with a pair of runs in the top of the 11th.
The Midshipmen were up 5-0 after two innings, but Air Force scored eight straight runs – including five in the seventh – to go up 8-5. Navy scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth to force extra innings.
Navy had 18 hits to Air Force’s 10 but made five errors while Air Force made none.
Air Force fell to 1-6 on the season with the loss.
The Falcons play host to Colorado Christian on Tuesday in their home opener. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place before the 2:30 first pitch to inaugurate the newly renovated Falcon Field.
