Not a good start to Air Force’s series with service academy rival Navy.

The Midshipmen pounded Air Force for 20 hits, including three home runs, and starting pitcher Sam Long struck out nine in six innings while holding the Falcons to two runs and four hits.

Navy scored five runs in the third inning to go up 6-0 and later scored seven runs in the seventh inning.

The teams meet again tomorrow at 3.

Air Force fell to 0-5 on the season. It was loss No. 250 under head coach Mike Hutcheon. In his seventh season, Hutcheon is 65-250.

  1. How did the AD find this coach? Wasn’t he an NAIA coach somewhere in the Midwest? If General Gould cares at all about AFA athletics – other than football – this coach will be fired along with the mens and womens basketball coaches.
