Jake, this article on academy football commits sheds light on what i believe to be a pretty serious problem with the program: The nearly total lack of recruiting in the talent rich states of California and Florida. Every year we see SEC and PAC 10 schools load up on 3,4 and 5 star recruits from the Super athletic and SPEED driven offenses these states possess, all while ESPN and Rivals thrive on reporting from these “recruiting hotbeds”. I’m not saying that great athletes cannot be found all over the country, but the overall success of teams that find the heavy majority of their players from these states (in state or not) cannot be overlooked. Coming off a year where we so often lacked explosiveness and big play potential on the offensive side of the football, one would think the coaching staff would try to do everything it could to prevent the same from happening again. This is an issue that needs to be addressed and done so immediately if we are ever going to be able to crack the top three in the rapidly rising MWC
