Decade Rankings

I love stuff like this.

CBSSports.com is ranking all 120 college football programs based on their performances during the last decade. The site hasn’t revealed its Top 30 yet, but Air Force comes in at No. 48.

Other notables: Army at 115. Wyoming, San Diego State and UNLV at 104, 105 and 108, respectively. CSU at 64. Navy at 60 (I imagine fans of the Midshipmen aren’t so happy at being 12 spots below the Falcons despite Navy’s struggles earlier this decade). Colorado at 53. New Mexico at 49.

Looks like the MWC’s “Big Three” all will be in the Top 30.

2004-2006 hurt our ranking. I think we would have been much higher in a ranking of the 90′s. However, we’re on the right track to move up if we can maintain the level of play of the last two years.

    Hey Jake!

I was looking at the CSU and the CU writeup and the author mentioned that CSU had the best record in the state for the decade.

I added up AF’s wins (going from 2000 to last season) and came up with 60 – 49…do you get the same count?

    Cheers!

Good to hear from you. Yes, you are 100 percent correct. I just added up AF’s last 10 records, and 60-49 is right. That’s better than CU and CSU. AF must have been overlooked. Although, the Falcons were ranked higher.
