I reported this in the spring, but I just confirmed it with the folks at Air Force to be sure there wasn’t a faster-than-expected recovery: Sophomore tailback Paul Weatheroy will not play this season.
In the offseason Weatheroy re-injured the knee that he blew out in the 2008 preseason. So that’s two season-ending injuries in two seasons. Without having played a game. Tough break.
Also, receiver Jaquon Robinson, who would have been a sophomore this year, no longer is with the program. He left the academy in the summer. Robinson played in three games last season and caught one pass for seven yards but showed potential in practice to be a deep threat.
