Reynolds only needs to develop 2 or 3 recruits a year to keep the program steady (and hopefully ascending). I’m glad to see 6 prepies and only 3 direct entries, which should really cut down attrition due to Academics or Military Incompatibility. I’m still looking for someone to blame on the failure to develop Philip Brown.

afafan…..good points about the prep school vs direct. I think this is a positive for the program and shows the evolution of the current staff from taking over late two years ago. I don’t quite understand your question on Philip Brown. The development problem was not on the court, it was in the classroom where he faltered and was not able to continue. Looking forward to more bball as the summer progresses. Go Falcons.

I think expectations for Phillip Brown were probably too high (based on former coach Jeff Bzdelik’s gushing about how he was a really big-time recruit).

But at the same time, it’s too bad for Air Force fans that things didn’t work out for Brown. Several players told me that he was unbelievably strong and a really tough match-up in practice. That and the flashes he showed at BYU in ’08 have to make Falcon fans consider what could have been.

Jake…so true. I watched some of his practices on the scout team when he came back to practice in January and still working on conditioning, etc. He had several blocks and used his body well to block out. He had true potential.

  5. Phillip is not done yet. He is in school this year(09) to pull his grades up. I beleive that he got behnd and could not make up the ground that he lost. I will invest in a personal traniner to keep him in shape. He will be just fine.
